Humboldt County

The opposite of addiction is connection.

Patrick's Foundation provides safe, structured, and supportive sober living homes for women in recovery. Our mission is to give women a stable foundation to heal, grow, and rebuild their lives.

My mission is simple. To love people back to life, to listen, and to walk beside them as they rebuild their lives one day at a time.

Most recovery housing offers a bed and a set of rules. We believe people need more than that to stay well.

Addiction grows in isolation. Recovery grows in connection. So everything inside Patrick's Foundation Homes is built to pull people back into community: shared meals around the table, one-on-one counseling, group support, and a daily rhythm that rebuilds trust and stability.

The house is beautiful. The program is what changes lives.

The Program

Structure that heals the whole person

Our residents arrive from treatment, hospitals, correctional facilities, or homelessness. We meet them with structure, encouragement, and real support that rebuilds stability and confidence.

Daily Structure

A rhythm to live by

Morning meditation, shared meals, daily sign-in, two house meetings a week, and four recovery meetings. Phase-based curfews give structure that grows with each resident's progress.

In-Home Classes

Learning that sets us apart

The Healing Table writing group, Overcomers testimony night, and Changed by Choices, a class on the brain's chemistry and its ability to change. Recovery work happens inside the home.

One-on-One Counseling

Personal guidance

Dana provides one-on-one counseling through the week, helping residents work through challenges, set personal goals, and stay accountable to the life they're building.

Case Management

Enhanced Case Management

As an ECM provider, we coordinate medical, mental health, and recovery appointments, and we help residents keep them. Real care coordination, documented and supported.

Housing Navigation

A path forward

Help finding stable housing for the next chapter, including a one-time housing deposit of up to $5,000 through community support to cover moving costs.

Connection & Fun

Learning to live again

Karaoke nights, game nights, campouts, and outings. Residents learn that recovery can be joyful, because the opposite of addiction is connection.

A Day in the Home

What daily life looks like

Recovery isn't a single decision. It's a hundred small ones, made in a steady rhythm, surrounded by people who care.

Morning

Meditation & intention

The day begins with a short meditation: a time to reflect, set intentions, and start grounded.

Daily

Shared meals

Meals are provided and eaten together around the table. Sharing food builds connection and a sense of family.

Through the week

Counseling & goals

One-on-one counseling helps residents work through challenges and set personal goals.

Weekly

Meetings & accountability

Two house meetings and at least four recovery meetings each week: church, 12-step, or another support group.

Always

A safe environment

No drugs, no fighting, no bullying. Respect is required. Random drug testing keeps everyone accountable and safe.

Nearby

Walking-distance support

Minutes from Uplift Eureka, the Betty Chinn Center, and several 12-step meetings built into the structure of the home.

Patrick's Foundation HomesA Letter From Our Founder
It's not about perfection. It's about people being seen, heard, and cared for exactly as they are, loved for who they are.

What inspired me to start this home comes from my own lived experience, knowing what it's like to need a place that feels safe and loving. After more than 15 years working in recovery, I've seen the need firsthand. I wanted to create a home that truly heals through love and belonging, where people are reminded that they matter and that their story isn't over. When someone walks through our doors, my deepest hope is that they immediately feel loved, accepted, and valued just as they are.
